How to improve the quality of sheet metal parts in sheet metal processing?
Practical Points for Improving Part Quality in Sheet Metal Processing

Based on the entire sheet metal processing workflow, standard process requirements are organized, optimized, and presented as clear items for workshop reference and documentation:

**Select Punching Process Appropriately**
After receiving the processing drawings, match the punching method according to the part's expansion dimensions and batch differences, strictly follow process requirements to complete the punching operation, and ensure cutting edge precision.

**Standardize Bending Die and Parameter Selection**
During bending operations, select the upper and lower dies based on sheet thickness and stretch ratio. The upper die should avoid collision and deformation between the workpiece and the die, while the lower die should be selected according to standard sheet thickness to control bending deformation at the source.

**Follow Standard Bending Sequence**
Sheet metal bending follows the principle of inside first, then outside; small first, then large; special first, then regular, to reduce process interference and ensure forming dimensions and appearance quality.

**Strictly Control Stamping and Riveting Processes**
When performing stud stamping and riveting operations, select the appropriate die based on stud height, then adjust the press pressure to ensure secure riveting and precise positioning.

**Distinguish Welding Processes and Ensure Positioning Control**
Common welding processes include argon arc welding, spot welding, CO2 shielded welding, and manual arc welding. For batch spot welding, plan the welding direction in advance and use dedicated positioning fixtures to ensure consistent weld spot positions and stable precision.

**Standardize Surface Treatment Processes**
Different sheet materials require differentiated surface treatments: cold-rolled sheets should undergo phosphating treatment first, followed by painting; electroplated sheets should be cleaned and degreased before painting; conventional electroplated parts do not require secondary painting after plating.

**Dust Protection for Painting and Assembly**
After painting and before assembly, operators must wear gloves to avoid hand stains on the workpiece; workpieces with dust should be cleaned with an air gun to ensure appearance quality.

**Final Inspection and Protective Packaging**
After workpiece assembly, inspect each piece for appearance, dimensions, and assembly condition. Qualified products should be sealed in dedicated packaging bags to prevent scratches and collisions during transport and storage.
